IN THE YEAR 2014, ONE MAN BY THE NAME OF THE MYSERIOUS MR ENTER ONLINE WOULD UPLOAD A VIDEO THAT WOULD CHANGE THE INTERNET FOREVER. THAT VIDEO, WOULD BE EPISODE 1 OF ANIMATED ATROCITIES. THIS VIDEO, AND EVENTUALLY SERIES, WOULD BIRTH MANY A ANGRY REVIWER THROUGHOUT THE MID TO LATE 2010S. NOW, MR ENTER IS NOTHING BUT A FOOTNOTE IN INTERNET HISTORY, BUT AT ONE POINT, HE WAS A NICHE MICRO CELEBRITY
FLASH FORWARD TO 2015. LEIF, STILL A HATCHLING, DISCOVERS THIS SERIES, HER LIFE EVER CHANGED FOR IT. LITTLE DOES SHE KNOW, BUT SHE WILL EVENTUALLY TAKE THE REIGN OF THIS CONTENT CREATOR SHE FRANKLY HAS NOT GIVEN A SHIT ABOUT SINCE 2020.
The actual Preamble
Before I start, I want to get one thing clear: I am not affiliated at all with Mr Enter. I have not watched his content in 5 years, nor do I really care for him. All this series shares is a namesake with a series he did, because frankly, "animated atrocities" is a fucking kick ass title.
ANYWHO: Animated Atrocities is a review show. Thats obvious, I think. But more specifically, Animated Atrocities is a review show that looks at contriversial and infamous pieces of animation, and reviews them, mainly to see if they actually deserve hate. This is a project that I have recently wanted to do, mainly because it sounds fun and I like discussing bad media,
but also because I have always wanted to review stuff. Genuenly has been a dream of mine every since I first watched Enter and RebelTaxi back when I was 10. So yeah, thats what Animated Atrocities is.
What is an "Atrocity"
An atrocity, at least in this series, is going to largely go off of vibes, specifically moreso public perception. Stuff that got a
lot of coverage on worst lists back in the day by youtubers, things that are often in the running for "worst cartoon of all time,"
hell, things that arent exactly well known, but in the communities that they are known in, are generally considered bad.
So, I guess the next question is: what exactly qualifies me covering something in here? SIMPLE:
Whatever I want to talk about. Im going to try and leave no stone unturned, but for the most part, stuff that I have an interest in
Things I will not review
I am not going to be covering things (at least in their own blog post)
that can hav emy views be summarized extremely quickly. These tend to be things that are extremely overexposed,
and are frankly overhated. Teen Titans Go is a prime example of this. Its like, a 4, maybe a 5/10 show that got hated
on hard in the mid 2010s because it was a completely dumbed down version of a beloved aughts show. Thats my opinion on it.
